and this pretty much sums it up,
There You Have It
This is a photograph. That may seem to contradict the Drawing Per Day category but it doesn't. It's a drawing, take my word.
Drawings are Everywhere
Meditating, focusing on one's breath, relaxing the muscles in one's face, opening up.
"I hold myself open."
You are a paper sack. I mean, me. I am.
Breathing in a Paper Sack
Each Monday and Thursday night and then on Saturday mornings a life drawing workshop is held in Los Feliz and I try to go when I can. Tonight I made it there. The workshop lasts 3 hours. For the first hour the model holds each pose for 2 or 5 minutes and then holds four 25 minute poses during the last 2 hours. The drawings I make during the workshop I never consider "finished" since that really isn't the point of the activity. I go to practice drawing. It's awesome. The models are great. The poses are often really great and the focus in the room is palpable. The drawings I make are mostly meh or sometimes really funny when some areas are beautifully rendered and then some other aspect is totally off and out of proportion. Without time to make corrections I often end up with beautiful monsters and hope the model doesn't notice that I've given her a teeny tiny head, giant hands or miniature malformed feet. Getting over the notions of finished or perfect results is part of the practice. It's just draw, draw, draw and never mind the ego. That aspect works well with this Drawing Per Day Project so I will start posting at least one life drawing from the workshop when I can. Here is the first. Tonight's model is Jin.

Coffees II
Coffees. Again. Replete with color. Happy Sunday.
Coffees
It's okay to have an opinion about Coffee. It's also okay to change your mind, and change your opinion about Coffee. Tastes change. What I like today isn't at all the same as what I liked a few years ago. It's different. I am a person different today than the person I used to be. I've changed and so has my tastes. This is a drawing of different coffees. Make of it what you will. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh, Moon. I love you and your comforting orbit. While I rest here, motionless, I feel your magnet tug at every cell in my body. Here I hold a restless tide within - may this rhythm lead me to sleep.
Jory 100
Last March, I saw a drawing by Nathan Bowers in my Instagram stream tagged #the100dayproject. That hashtag led me to Elle Luna, this page and 100 self-portraits later this: jory.tv/the100dayproject

The hiatus is over. After reworking some technical issues The Drawing Per Day Project is back. I made this drawing several weeks back for a silk screen printing project at Pilgrim School in Los Angeles. Going forward I will post fresher same day drawings because that's the fun part of doing this.
